"The Man Who Solved the Market" by Gregory Zuckerman

Review by Borodutch

"The Man Who Solved the Market" is a biography of Jim Simon. The author explores the most significant parts of his life. There's zero insight into what exactly Jim did to become the most successful investor of all time besides the fact that he was the first person to apply quantitative analysis to stock markets on a large scale.

I liked the parts where Gregory went into the intricate relationships inside the Renaissance. Other than that, sure, a math wizard applies his wit to the markets and makes 30%+ of annualized returns over 30 years.

However, I must give a hat tip to Simon, as the fund closed to any outside investments before I was even born, having the only way to invest through being employed at the fund. I have nothing but respect for the Renaissance and this particular detail.
